ALF accelerator

Myomunchee+Trampoline+ALF accelerator

What do you get when you take a kid, and add a Myomunchee, and put him on a trampoline?? ALF accelerator!

If you haven’t read other our blog entries about the ALF or the Myomunchee, here is a brief overview: the ALF is a delicate wire worn on the roof of the mouth to stimulate cranial bone movement and support, and does so through attracting the tongue to the roof of the mouth in a passive way. The Myomunchee is a oral training device that is used to stimulate the same cranial bone movement, through the action of chewing and proper swallowing mechanics. We use ALF and Myomunchee in a broad variety of cases, and especially with kids who have some developmental disruption that limits their body’s ability to fully express their genetic potential of the head and neck.

The ALF accelerator concept has a double meaning. For one thing, while waiting for the outside laboratory to fabricate the ALF appliance, use of the Myomunchee stimulates the periodontal ligaments of the teeth and cranial sutures within the mouth, and therefore accelerates the efficacy of the ALF upon immediate insertion. Second, the acceleration of jumping on a trampoline literally changes the fluid dynamics of the cranium, and reduces the patterning seen in the rest of the body as compensation.

Best of all, we recommend using the ALF accelerator to make the experience fun! See David jump, chew and swallow in this video, and have fun!
