This patient initially complained of the lack of proportion in his front top teeth: he never grew a left lateral incisor, and had been previously restored with a three-unit porcelain-metal bridge and to mask that; the adjacent three front teeth also were restored with porcelain-metal crowns to create a matched set. But to the patient’s eye, the midline of the two central incisors was not even with his face, the pontic (false tooth) on the 3-unit bridge was too small, and the overall color was too grey.
Correction of these three complaints was achieved by completely remastering the front six as a single set, crafted by a master ceramist. 3 individual all-ceramic crowns now perfectly balance the proportion and symmetry with the 3-unit bridge opposite. Note the biting edge of the front teeth now falling gracefully along the inner curve of the lower lip. The patient is confident and smiles much more freely!
